B'nai Mitzvah
Cuando un niño judío llega a su madurez (a los 12 años de edad y un día para las mujeres y a los 13 años y un día para los varones), pasa a hacerse responsable de sus actos de acuerdo con la ley judaica (halakha). A esa altura, se dice que el joven pasa a ser Bar Mitzvah (בר מצווה, "hijo del mandamiento"); y las jóvenes pasan a ser Bat Mitzvah (בת מצווה, "hija del mandamiento"). El término colectivo que se aplica a varones y mujeres es B'nai Mitzvah.
